Tiger Woods, the 15-time Major winner is part of the ownership group of the final and sixth team in the new technology-infused golf league.
Woods TGR Ventures, David Blizter, and Los Angeles Golf Club’s Boston Common Golf will be competing against Jupiter Links Golf Club.
Woods said in a press statement that “having the opportunity not only to compete but also to own a Jupiter team is an exciting new chapter for me.” “I expect Jupiter Links GC will showcase the golf culture in my hometown while we compete against the top players in the World.”
Blitzer co-founded Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment along with Josh Harris. He is the co-chairman of and managing partner for a portfolio which includes the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Devils and Joe Gibbs Racing. Blitzer is also a coowner of the Cleveland Guardians and Washington Commanders of the NFL, a partner in Crystal Palace Football Club of the English Premier League and has stakes in many soccer clubs across the globe.
Six teams, each with four PGA Tour professionals, will play 15 matches in the regular season starting on Jan. 9, 2024. Then, there will be semifinals and finals at a new high-tech short game complex built on the Palm Beach State College campus in Florida.
While some teams have already been announced, the full team rosters, names and brands will all be revealed later this year. Some teams were announced but the full rosters, team names, brands, and front-office staff are all to be announced in 2018.
